HEART -Hardeman Empowering Achievement Response Team is a research-based reading program that provides high-quality instruction and intervention matched to students needs. Teachers use a 90 minute uninterrupted reading block to provide instruction in whole group and small group settings.
Accelerated Reader is a computerized reading comprehension program using school library books. The media specialist works closely with the classroom teacher to assist with participation in this program. Students' progress can be tracked through the use of this program.
STAR Reading is a computerized assessment program for identifying and tracking reading levels of students.
A+Anywhere Learning Systems (ALS) is a computerized program, covering all academic subjects,with pre-assessment components for each grade level, which are administered at the beginning of the school year. After the pre-assessment, teachers assign lessons that are based on the standards (skills) that are set by the state of Tennessee, our nation's goal of No Child Left Behind, and Dr. Hopper's vision of "Preparing for the Future One Child at a Time."
Foster Grandparents is a program furnished by the Southwest Human Resource Agency which allows adults to come into our school to work with our children on reading and math skills.
Peer Tutoring is a program that provides the one-on-one attention needed for many students and contributes to enhancing self-esteem as well as academic success.
