MHS HOSA STUDENTS ADVANCE TO STATE COMPETITION
On January 22, 2008, approximately 35 Middleton High School
HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) students traveled to U.T. Martin
to compete in the West Tennessee Regional Competition. Competitions range in various health careers
and provide a challenging experience for HOSA members to participate in health
care related events and develop strong leadership skills. Students who compete at the regional
competition and place have the opportunity to compete in Tennessee’s state
competition in Chattanooga, TN in March.
Middleton High School is very proud of the HOSA members who attended this conference and their hard work. This year, MHS had eight members place at competition. Winners were as follows: Tiarra Scott – 1st Place, Administrative Medical Assisting; Chad Sweeton – 2nd Place, Extemporaneous Speaking; Kayla Gammel – 2nd Place, Dental Assisting; Tiffany Harris & Zach Smart – 3rd Place, CPR & First Aid; Haley Pulse – 3rd Place, Veterinary Assisting; Shelby Stewart – 3rd Place, Pathophysiology; and Dakota Rhodes – 3rd Place, Medical Spelling.
