HEART Program - Hardeman County utilizes our H.E.A.R.T. program for grades kindergarten through eight.
Students are assessed in Reading and Math three times throughout the year using programs called Aimsweb and STAR. Teachers use the information from these assessments as well as ongoing assessment to personalize instruction for every student. Included in every Reading and Math lesson are whole group instruction, small group instruction, and independent work stations.
Accelerated Reading Program- Reading program designed to motivate students to read and accumulate points by taking computerized tests.
Students receive rewards for their points throughout the year.
**Parents are reminded that Farmers & Merchants Bank will pay 10 cents for each Accelerated Reader point for all county students in grades 5-8. AR points are turned into the bank at the end of each six- and nine-week grading period. Students may collect their money at the end of the grading period, or they can wait until the end of the semester. Students must come to the bank with a parent or guardian and proper identification in order to collect their money.
